Best album of 2008
7 July, 2008
This album is inspired. Every track is masterfully crafted and is a compelling listen with a bass guitar that lingers in your head long after the Stop button is pushed. Best album of the year by a distance.

2008 is here and so come The Ting Tings, the pop explosion made up of Jules De Martino and Katie White. The duo have teased and tantalized during the latter months of last year by releasing extremely limited singles and playing very few headline shows. The duly deposited buzz has built steadily to launch one of the most exciting British indie-pop acts to emerge from these shores in years.
'We Started Nothing' is the debut album from The Ting Tings. Mixing pop and indie without diluting the power of either is no mean feat, but this album succeeds in spectacular style. Includes the singles 'Great DJ' and 'That's Not My Name'.
Salford boy/girl garage pop duo, Jules de Martino & Katie White were amongst the front runners in the BBC's 'Sound for 2008' poll. The Tings Tings were the hottest ticket in their (home)town û their house parties at their Islington Mill apartment the place to be. It wasn't long before record companies were alerted and also attending, the duo subsequently signed a deal with SonyBMG. Resultant debut album WE STARTED NOTHING was met with critical and commercial success.
