Absolutely top CD, Definetly give Amy Winehouse a run for her money, also a lot more attractive than Winehouse. Sweet about Me top song and also Echo Beach, But overall top notch tracks.

Not Another Amy Winehouse
20 June, 2008
I first heard this voice on the radio when they played "Sweet About Me" in a chart rundown while I was in the car and I was hooked.
The album itself has a very broad range of sounds, with stuff that could be more attributed to Ms. Winehouse, through to tracks which could almost have been written for Girls Aloud - yes they are that sort of sound, through to the track "Safer" which sounds to me like Kate Bush in the early years.
This girl has a wide range, both musically and vocally. Lets hope the usual corruption bypasses this one and we get more of this in the future.

Nov 2007
Cilmi's precocious vocal chops have garnered comparisons with Janis Joplin, Billi Holiday and Amy Winehouse. Collaborating with peerless eccentric pop Brian Higgins, her voice is equal parts animal snarl, vocal might and jazz slyness.
'Lessons To Be Learned' is the debut album by Australian songstress Gabriella Cilmi. Having been in a rock cover band - an unusual and unique musical background compared to her female contemporaries - Cilmi delivers a refreshing and assured sound on this release. Production duties are undertaken by Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Sugababes) providing pop perfection with a twist, while the fact that material here has been compared to that of Amy Winehouse and Led Zeppelin is evidence of a versatile and confident performer. Includes the single 'Sweet About Me'.
London-based pop rocker who unlike her contemporaries served some form of musical apprenticeship (as a member of a covers band) before being signed as a solo artist by Island in 2004àat the age of fourteen. The precocious Aussie's debut set LESSONS TO BE LEARNED (2008) earnt comparisons with the ubiquitous Ms. Winehouse, minus the gossip column filling scandal. The album was produced by hit factory Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Kylie etc) and was an eclectic affair, comfortably encompassing pop, rock and soul.
