Brilliant!
12 September, 2008
I'm so glad that I bought this album and I love it more each time I hear it. Some of Goldfrapps music is chilling, some of it is haunting, but most of it is beautifully brilliant. Well worth adding to your collection.

goldfrapp return with their new album. With catchy tunes such as happiness, it gets you singing along, but it doesn't match up to their last album

Goldfrapp are back with the release of their fourth album, 'Seventh Tree', through Mute on 25th February 2008. 'Seventh Tree' is written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded at their own studio deep in the English countryside.
A sensual counterpoint to the glitterball glamour of 'Supernature', 'Seventh Tree' is gilded in the butterfly colours of an English surrealism shared from Lear to Lennon. It shimmers and shines with the warmth of a hazy summer, an electric whirlpool over which Alison's glistening voice soars.
'Seventh Tree' is the fourth studio album by Goldfrapp and sees the electronic duo return to the more ethereal feel of their debut 'Felt Mountain' as opposed the glitter glamour of 'Supernature'. Here they use elements of folk and ambient music, and display influence from Gallic stars such Air and Serge Gainsbourg, all resulting in a warm, delicate, irresistible album. Features the single 'A&E'.
Alison Goldfrapp first gained notoriety for her astonishing vocal work on albums by Tricky and techno duo Orbital. She joined forces with composer Will Gregory in the late 1990s to create her own moody, sensual version of contemporary electronica. With a succession of critically lauded albums, the duo honed their approach and utilised an assortment of influences ranging from traditional soundtrack themes and vintage pop to '80s synth sounds, disco, and glam rock to create one of the most intriguing and satisfying electronica hybrids to emerge from the genre since its inception.
