Repetitive pop that just cashes in on the indie revival
14 November, 2008
With titles of songs like 'i wish i was james bond' sounding the same as all their other singles, the little piano jangles and vocals have all been done better. This is pop-rock at its worst, a truly awful album. Even indie lovers NME gave it 2/10 enough said!

Great fun album
15 September, 2008
This album is a great fun album to listen to. Why the negative reviews by some people ? Is not a classic and I'm sure was never recorded by the band with 'classic' in mind. This is a great album with no issues. Just enjoy the music and album for what it is. Refreshing fun !!!!!!

London indie-pop trio Scouting for Girls are lifelong friends Roy, Greg & Pete, who formed in 2005. The name is both a cheeky pun and a beautifully rounded image; infused with the nostalgia of innocent childhood and boyish adventure, yet suggestive of maturation towards experience, adulthood and disillusionment. Inspirational, quirky, escapist, and friendly, their music is unashamedly nostalgic, mottled with loss, disillusion and a poignant lamentation for innocent past times.
Scouting For Girls debut album is packed with potential hits including current single 'She's So Lovely' plus stand outs 'Keep On Walking', 'James Bond' and 'Elvis Ain't Dead'.
This is the self-titled debut by the piano-led indie-pop trio, Scouting For Girls. Catchy, clever melodies and lyrics that recount tales of being young and finding your way in life provide the base for what is an accomplished, feel-good album, full of handclaps and fantastic backing vocal work. The single, 'She's So Lovely' is included.
Gentle piano-led indie popsters whose self-titled debut hit the top spot of the UK album chart in 2008. Musically, Scouting For Girls (the band's name a mildly humorous play on Robert Baden-Powell's 'Scouting For Boys' handbook) are similar to the Ben Folds Five, but lyrically they are closer to the Arctic Monkeys. After building up a large MySpace following (naturally their fans are known as Wolf Cubs), Scouting For Girls signed to Epic. The SCOUTING FOR GIRLS album featured the top ten singles "She's So Lovely" and the witty "Elvis Ain't Dead".
